Vacation Pics

Today I am displaying just a few of my pics from my vacation. This summer I took about two and a half weeks and left town to visit with family. It was something that I have not done in a very long time and am so thankful that I was able to do so.

I first went to San Antonio with Jason & Julie and spent time visiting my Uncle. We always have a great time and he always takes us out on his boat on Canyon Lake- I LOVE it!

Next I flew to Rochester, New York and spent about a week and a half visiting with more family- mostly my Dad’s family because all but one of my mother’s brothers is in Texas. The last time I was in New York was before my Dad had passed so it was a very different trip- but I think I needed it more than I realized.

When you loose your parents, or at least for me, you sometimes feel ‘unconnected’ in the sense that you seem to have no visible ‘anchor’ tying you to the life that has made you who you are. Feeling lost can be all too easy. It was wonderful to feel ‘connected’.

One of the highlights of the trip was spending time with my grandparents. I have not seen either one of them since my Dad’s funeral and I really enjoyed our outings together. I also was able to take a trip to Boston and New York City with two of my cousins and their families- George & Cindy. Their kids have grown so much since I saw them last- and one of them I had not even met yet!

In Boston we spent about half the day whale watching- which was incredible. I decided to keep the whale photos for another slideshow since I have so many of them. Today, all you will see are snap shots of family, Boston, and New York City.

Enjoy!

Enjoyed your pics - especially of Boston - brought back memories of the visits we've had there.
