It is official. The 2008 Darwins are out! I have featured the Darwin Awards on my blog before, and though a few might find the humor somewhat tasteless, I find it absolutely hysterical- sad of course… but unbelievable to say the least!
The Darwin Awards are given out each year to members of our human society who remove themselves from the gene pool by some incredibly stupid act that happens to kill them off.
These poor people are awarded a Darwin because they have gifted humanity by not allowing their ‘stupid’ gene to pass from one generation to the next. In fact, one of the requirements is that individuals can only win if they have not spawned any children before their death. In theory, these deaths are helping the human gene pool continue to make great selective gains.
This year even offers a special award that is not given very often- The Double Darwin. Exciting stuff, indeed!
